Service alert

I also had the same problem. I like playing multiplayer on battlefield 3 and play it quite often but lately I've not been able to on the testing network page it just keeps saying   service alert

Please check your local connection and your connection to XBL by

tapping on the silvered GUIDE button at centre front of the game controller.

Go two clicks starboard to Setttings, select System Settings then Network Settings and select your connection (either WIRED or the name of your SSID for wireless)

Then, please launch Test Xbox Live Connection.

If the connection completes, then you may have an EA issue; you may contact them at 1-866-543-5435 or support.ea.com

If the connection fails, please click on More info, note the result, and click again on More info to get the second suggestion, then check back.

Don't worry about, the service alert is referred to a Account Issue:

"Changes to users' privacy settings will not be honored."

support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status

But everything else is working perfectly, so you should doesn't had any problems playing online as far I can tell.
