Same error code since almost 1 month ago (4099-0000-0080-0300-8007-045D)

A gamer like me called "Wolfbane" posted a very insightful issue on a different thread a while ago but didn't get attention. I keep having the same issue with my so call "update". Everytime I turn on my xbox it keeps giving me the same error code. I've tried everything (trust me) but with no evolution on said issue. I even erased all my accounts on my hard drive, even my own and nothing happens. I disconnected my router and modem but nothing, I even tried connecting my xbox. 360 directly to my modem and still nothing. This issue is your own to fix, not mine, if you excuse my harsh words, I'm not a technician nor a computer whiz and still have read every forum about this issue and Ive kinda given up. Please fix this issue as soon as you're able (not on the next year if you please) because I'm missing my xbox live gold membership time frame and that is money I'm also wasting on you guys (meaning Microsoft). Again this is your issue and part of your. Interests and competence, not mine so please fix it.

I wanted to point out that I've been researching my issue, although is not of my competence, in my system info says that my current dashboard is D: 2.0.16537.0 and what it seems that the system update I need is D: 2.0.16547.0 please I've been trying like crazy to be able to download this update the right way. Don't make me look for an alternate.

Is this my answer then? No one in this so called "tech support" is willing to give me any answers because you guys don't care and don't know what is the reason. People like you are the reason why so many xbox gamers are preferring Sony instead of Microsoft. You bloody xenophobic vampires.

I have the same problem, been researching it for a month now. Usually my error code ends with C000-0185. I can play disks, but my console won't accept the update so I can't use Live.

Sorry for the delay people. It appears as if the error code you reported does not exist. Is this the correct code that you are receiving? If so I would suggest that you use the Contact-us Support option located in the drop down menu at the top of this page listed under support and request a call back. Or call 1-800-4MyXbox. Sorry I have searched this code and came up empty.

@AntacidObject66:  It does exist.  The error code is located on this page (support.xbox.com/.../software-update-errors )

 @everyone:

Hey all,

If anyone is having this issue, try following these steps

A storage device (such as a memory unit or hard drive) was not found during the software update. Follow these steps:

  1. Turn off your console.
  2. Remove all console storage devices, including any USB flash drives, external hard drives or the internal hard drive on the Xbox 360 E console or Xbox 360 S console. Learn how to remove the hard drive.
  3. Add your primary storage device, for example, the hard drive.
  4. Turn on the console
  5. Try updating the console again.
