Removing credit card details.

The last time I rang xbox customer support I was told even though I had no auto-renewal or accounts owing I was unable to remove my credit card details because I still had xbox live gold. If this is the case then xbox will be liable for any money stolen or details stolen if this occurs and even perhaps eligible to be sued if any of my details are stolen, would it not?

Just bringing it to your attention that calls kept on reference would further prove my point. And it is a little stupid if details can't be removed upon request as in my case where I made it quite clear several times.

Nope time to read the terms of use

Section 6 clearly states while you have an active membership you must keep your billing info upto date

Also nothing more then 4 digits of your credit card is ever visible so a leak of the number is impossible especially without the security code which was deleted when you entered it

As long as you use standard good account security practice then you are fine

Including not using same info on different sites

Read that link for more info

The only way to remove creditcard details is to follow the terms of use

If your account Is month to month then you can't

If 3 months or more then call support and have them remove the creditcard and issue a prepaid code for the remaining time

@FANNYADD - You can not delete an Xbox Live account. Removing it from your console does not delete it, its still a valid account on the Xbox Live Servers.

You need to manage your payment options and billing yourself. So if you choose to ignore the Auto Renewal then you may be billed continuosly untill you stop it or you could end up with a billing violation on your account.

Deleting an account is not an option.

Best thing you can do is get yourself a prepaid debit card when your account needs to be renewed and put it on that. Then remove your old debit/credit card info after you've done this. Prepaid cards expire after sometime if the balance og the card is at $0 as well so you could also not have a active card on your account. That should at least keep your account safer.
