Removed Credit card details

Hi

 

I have removed the credit card from my account and my account has changed to silver membership. I have paid for 1 Month and did not want my card stored on file. The subcription was due to end on 26/07 but i no longer have access to that,

 

Have i lost access to a service that i have paid up front for?

Hi there.

 

You need to call the xbox support line for your region regarding this issue. Be aware that when you purchase an xbox LIVE subscription with a credit / debit card the automatic renewal feature is activated and the card details need to be kept on file until that subscription expires.

 

If you do not wish to keep your card details linked to your account it may be a better idea for you do use the pre-paid xbox LIVE Gold cards.

I called the support guys to remove the card which they have.

All i want to know is have i lost access to the service which i have already paid for?

if there is 1month or less left in the membership there is no prepaid token and is just canceled when the creditcard is removed because there is no membership less then 1month if you insist on removing the creditcard

this is why you turn off autorenewal and  normally wait till the 1month is over then remove the card

 this also cancels any promotion you were under

 

this is why the agent would've warned you about removing a creditcard

 

only time that you can remove a creditcard without losing time is when you have a 2+ months on the account

So i have paid for 1 month of access, had that cancelled and not been refunded for what i have paid for and not been able to use? My partner removed his details from his account and was refunded for the remaining time when he had less than 1 month left on his subcription.

1month memberships are not refunded only 3month and 1 year

LIVE Gold subscriptions purchased on the console require the payment method to remain on file for the duration of the subscription. It might be possible that the person you talked to thought you wanted to cancel your subscription in addition to removing your payment method. In any event, you'd have to call Phone Support back to get a refund of some kind. Sorry for the confusion!
