I moved from France to Norway around 8 months ago. Recently I tried to download Halo 3 for free (I am an XBOX Live Gold member) but I was getting an error each time. I do not remember the error (and the game is no longer free) but when I checked it was related to the region. My account it still tied to France, with a French credit card but my IP address is Norwegian of course.
If I try to change my region on https://live.xbox.com/fr-FR/AccountMigration I get an error message (without error code) inviting me to check http://support.xbox.com/en-US/billing-and-subscriptions/account-management/change-region?icid=furl_regionchangehelp
It's not really helping, I am not concerned by any of the "Conditions that prevent you from changing your region" items :(
I already tried to chat with the support, they promised to escalate the issue to the upper management but a few weeks later nothings changed.
I don't know if it's related but if I go to https://commerce.microsoft.com it looks like I have several accounts in one (same Microsoft ID!), one of them is Norwegian: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qds0hmyfdkvpige/Screenshot%202013-11-10%2022.49.41.png How can I make it my default XBOX Live account? Does that make any sense?
