red light

my X Box has had a red light appear a few times but it was easily solved when restarted, however, now it wont even load up. it shows the green light on for a few seconds then green goes to red.., this is not the outer circle but the dot in center that shows red. what does this mean and how can i fix it?? It wont even send signal out to tv so im literally getting nothing?

Most likely it's the Red ring of death sadly. I would call xbox or contact them online too see if you can send it in to get it fixed.

Do you have an s-model xbox? The problem you're experiencing is most likely due to overheating. Try letting your xbox cool off, and try to place it somewhere with better air circulation. You can read more about it in this article:

This can typically be caused from two different things:

a) Overheating (as stated below).

To resolve this, unplug your Xbox and lay it in an open room. Let it sit for a while.

b) Your Hard drive or A/V cables are not plugged in all the way.

Obviously, to resolve this, plug them in ALL the way.
