Recording gameplay - Help VERY appreciated!

So. I got this Xbox 360 Slim and WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2011, and now I want to record my gameplay, rather without buying expensive, fancy stuff for several hundred $. I got a DVD Recorder, a Philips DVDR 3320v (also with support for DVD+RW) that I have plugged my Xbox 360's yellow, white and red cables into the front of. I set my PAL Settings from PAL-50 to PAL-60, and here's when the first problem occurs:

I see a horizontal, black line going across my TV screen. On top of the line, I see the lower screen, and on the bottom line, I see the upper screen. What could be causing this?

Kind Regards

If you're using component HD there should be a swtich on the plug that goes into your console, flick that switch over to SD and you should be good to go. Failing that after a spot of googling I found that having progressive scan switched on can also cause this issue so switch that off in your console settings and on your TV.

I recently found out that it is a composite/s-video cable. How do I do then? Because when I set the Hz on the Xbox 360 and on my TV to 50-Hz, it shows up correctly, but when I set it to 60-Hz (which WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2011 supports) it starts tp flicker, and I get this "black bar/line" across the screen.

If you're using component cables try switching from HD to SD using the switch on the connector.
