Received invalid promo code for Xbox 360 trade in.

I went to the Microsoft Store online trade in page (, filled out the trade in forms here (, and received 1) an email order confirmation and 2) another email with the $100 coupon code. Both the e-mails are *** Email address is removed for privacy *** which I guess is a Microsoft partner that processes the trade ins. I mailed in my Xbox 360 via the pre-paid FedEx label and it has already arrived at the destination.

I've tried the promo code on literally every single Xbox One console available in the Microsoft Store and it always shows up as "invalid promo code". I've called Microsoft Store support at least 5x now. Everytime I call them, they tell me they will have a superivsor call me back the next day after looking into the issue. They have not returned a single phone call at this point.

I also tried Xbox customer support chat twice; both times I was told to contact the Microsoft Store.

I e-mailed *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and regardless of what I write in my e-mail, they just tell me to contact Microsoft directly.

I went to a physical Microsoft Store location to see if I could get some help there and I was told they could do nothing to help me and I must contact the Microsoft Store customer support number.

Basically whichever MIcrosoft support department I contact, they just say they are not responsible and to call a different department. Is there anything I can do about this or did I just lose my Xbox 360? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm pretty much out of options at this point; thanks.

You should literally copy and paste this in the  08 - Promotions & Special Offers on Xbox One Support Section.

Seems this Error is Trending so please make sure to create your own Thread and not to just add to someone else's.

This will help too ensure that an Official Support Member will get to you and your issue faster.

I know you feel tugged around right now be do yourself a favor and make that one last post there then give them a few days and check back. I bet they will be able too help you.

Remember to take advantage of games with gold. Super time force and crimson dragon can currently be downloaded for free. And also if you stop into the Store on your dashboard a game called WarFrame is available for down load for free of charge.

Its actually not an invalid code. The guy is trying to redeem a code given to him from the MS store on the xbox one. He needs to use the code at checkout when ordering his xbox one from the MS Store.

Seems they should have told him that at the store???

I'm entering the promo code at the Microsoft Store checkout. I just included the links for where I got the trade in because when I talk to a customer service rep, they seem to have no idea where I would have gotten the promo code. The email says:

To redeem your promo code to take $100 off an eligible Xbox One Console, here's all you have to do:

1. Visit to shop eligible Xbox One consoles

2. Add an eligible Xbox One concole to your cart

3. Enter this unique promo code: xxxxxxxxx on or before 11:59PM PT on Tuesday, December 2nd at checkout to take $100 off the price of your Xbox One.

I've tried using the coupon code on every single Xbox One console @


these are the only ones you can use promo code on have you tried these ones

Just tried with those four and still shows as invalid for all of them

all i can say is keep up the phone calls demand to speak to a supervisor i would even do  a little legal research do you have a version of what we in uk call trading starndards if so throw some off there rules in it works for me when i try to return things  

Or you could post in the thread I linked above and wait for the proper team that deals with these issues too get too you.

Instead of getting wound up on the incorrect teams that don't deal with these problems so therefore they don't even have any information on the issue and basically just "Forward" you so you don't explode on them.

That seems more logical too me. But maybe being human doesn't matter anymore.
