Really Microsoft?

I've heard statements from a couple people that have contacted Xbox Support and their Twitter saying using lens cleaning discs to clean the disc drive laser avoids warranty... REALLY? That's saying like it's illegal to go and buy a retail movie. Seriously, this doesn't make any damn sense. I though the RRoD/RLoD was enough, but voiding warranty for using a lens cleaning disc to repair disc drives? That's a 10 on the pathetic chart.

I'm not angry at them, but this is ridiculous.

I use a Maxell blu ray lens cleaner. It works in all dvd players, and is a "no touch".Nothing touches the lens,it has holes that blows the laser off as it reads.Drive reads like a champ after two years, longer than any other 360 I've owned.

I doubt that using a lens cleaner properly would void the warranty.  Perhaps the person who originally stated this rumour explained to support that he wanted to use a q-tip or something to clean the lens.
