Random Disconnects

Hi,

I recently get a new Zyxel modem and ever since I have been experiencing random disconnects for no apparrant reason. I've had a technician out from my service preovider but still no joy. This makes online gaming absolutely impossible as the disconnects can happen every few minutes. Can you please advise and help me find a solution to this problem.

Hi Iceman,

Can you tell me the model number of your Zyxel, your connection (wired or wireless), and let me know about your set up (is it in another room, etc)

Thanks!

The model numer is P-660HW-T1 v3. It's a wireless setup and the Xbox is in the tv room about 10-12 feet away from the modem in the hallway. There's not even a wall blocking it, just a door.

Hey Iceman, sorry to hear about the issues with the new router! Okay, I'm guessing you and the technician tried resetting your network hardware, correct? Have you been able to test a wired connection to your router at all?

Also, do you happen to have a Turtle Beach Wireless headset at all?

First, don't have that wireless headset. I tried a wired connection and same problem. Got a different modem and it seems to work fine now?!  So problem solved but is the newer modem faulty or are my settings all messed up. Thanks for the responses by the way. Really appreciate it.

Hey Iceman, glad to hear the other router works! I took a look, and your newer router doesn't appear to be listed as a supported device; I'm curious, is the router that works listed on that page?
