I've had a long time intermittent problem with my Xbox Live connection. On some days, it works fine. On others, I get frequent disconnects. I can re-connect immediately after I lost connection. Usually if I try and stream video it disconnects within a few seconds. Sometimes, though, after rebooting or messing with settings it'll start working and stay connected for as long as I have the Xbox on. Playing games online will also drop connection, but not as frequently, maybe on the order of once an hour. While connected, there's no unusual lag or speed issues. Netflix plays in HD just fine.
My router came with my Verizon FiOS service:
Hardware Version: F
Using a wired connection with a static IP currently set as the router DMZ. I've also tried it with the built-in Xbox rules applied to the Xbox IP, with TCP 3074 and UDP 88, 3074 forwarded.
Connection speed test: 24.57Mbps upload, 5.46Mbps download, ping 58ms
Things I have tried (and have not permanently fixed the problem):
*Re-setting Xbox network settings
*Clearing system cache
*Deleting and re-downloading my profile
*Running the Xbox live connection test; it always reports that the connection is fine.
*Rebooting the router.
*Setting XBox as router DMZ address.
*Ensured that there is no other significant network usage on my connection.
This is getting real annoying. Seems like I've tried everything the internet has suggested.
