Random Disconnects for a few months, what do Xbox Forums?

Something has been up with my xbox for a few months now.

It just randomly kept disconnecting me when I was not playing with other gamers, but signed into live.
Today its started to randomly disconnect me WHILE I'm playing with people.

Everything else at my house works fine thats internet related, I don't understand why the Xbox is having such a problem?

Help/Advice?
Also, Its TWC, wired, i don't know what else you would need to know, if it helps any.
Please, I'm sick and tired of this, its been months. I'm not gonna waste money on something I can't fully enjoy.

It's not live, it's your networking equipment.  Could you provide more details of your setup please.

What else would you like to know? I'm sorry, I'm not a networking genius so I don't quite know what a "setup" is.

One thing i can say, is i've bought a new router during this problem. The new router didn't solve the xbox solution, and just seemed like a waste of money. Its connected via ethernet.

My apologies for my earlier post. However as you can understand, with so many different service providers, modems and routers, we need a little more information if we are to help you on the forums.  To that end, could you take a look at this link http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/f/9/t/9.aspx 

 

At the bottom of the first post (by Mister Fitzer), could you copy and paste the networking questions that are in bold, providing answers to those questions to the best of your knowledge?  Thanks.

 

 

Also in the meantime you could take a look at this support link.  http://support.xbox.com/en-gb/xbox-live/troubleshoot/connection-issues/performance as it covers frequent disconnections amongst other things.

What Country/State/Province do you live in? Wisconsin

Modem brand & model number:  Webstar by Scientific Atlanta Model Number DPX2203

Router brand & model number: Netgear N300 Wireless Router

Network Connection Type: Wireless/Wired: Wired

If Wireless, what type of encryption are you using?

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?

Things you have tried:

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown  :::: Unknown, I'm not sure what this is.

Is NAT Type Open? Yes.

Any Error Codes you encounter: None.  

What type of internet do you have? Cable/DSL/T1/3G?

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Time Warner  

After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" and click on "More info", what is the exact message shown on screen? It works sucessfuly since i can temporarily connect to live

Sorry I had to go out.  I was hoping after you answered the questions as I suggested, another user or one of the community 'network gurus' would be able to help you further, sadly that doesn't appear to be the case. Sorry about that.

 

 

Since you have a cable modem and you are wired to a router, would it be possible for you to connect your console direct to the modem rather than the router?  This is purely for testing purposes to see if you disconnect while connected to only the modem.

 

 

Note: Depending now how your ISP handles MAC addresses, you may need to power your modem off and on again to allow it to connect to the Internet when it is connected directly to your Xbox.

 

Also there is a Chat to Ambassadors link on the Live Support page.  You can use this to chat other Xbox Live ambassador's, but it in real time.  Perhaps they may be able to help too.
