Random Blue Dotted Lines Scarring Screen

Hi guys,

Just looking for advice for a friend. He doesn't use this website so i thought i would help him out.

He is currently using one of the brand new 250gb hard drive systems. It was bought around about 11 months ago. The problem has been occurring now for a number of months. Basically at random intervals blue dots and lines will mark the screen. I got him to take a photo. I will try and link a photo below.

This apparently occurs mostly on COD:MW2 and Top Spin 3. The HDMI cable has recently been replaced but this hasn't helped the problem. His warranty is running out soon so he needs to make his mind up whether its the xbox or something else.

Has this happened for any of you? And what did you do about it. Cheers for your time

This happened to me as well, except mine were rainbow and white dots. I sent it in for repairs and it came back in even worse shape then when I sent it in. After I sent it BACK in since it couldn't read any data, they sent me a new one.

Could you have him try to reset his console's display settings? To do so:

1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.

2. Turn off the console.

3. Turn on the console.

Note: If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left quadrant light illuminated.

4. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time.

The Xbox Dashboard resets the display settings to the default settings and then automatically restarts the console.

I have the same issue with my 250GB Xbox slim, I sent it in for repairs and they said they couldn't find a fault! I thought I would get some answers in the forums but to no avail. I've also sent in a support ticket but have had no reply; this is what my appears on my screen after a few hours of playing:-

It doesn't matter what game I play either!

Here is the forum topic I posted, you might be able to use some of the info from that? forums.xbox.com/.../17002.aspx
