"Can't Connect to Xbox Live Party"

Hi, I have this problem that won't let me join my friend's Xbox Live Party or Game, this has been going on since around September of last year, I just finally decided to come here and ask for help. Before you ask, my NAT Type is set to Open, I'm forwarding all the ports that Xbox Live uses, I have UPnP enabled and I'm wired in. This is a person who I also used to be able to connect to, without any issues or any modifications to the router settings, I'm using a NETGEAR WNDR3700 router, and a Gigaset 4300 Modem. One thing that was different is that the connection issues started popping up around the time that I made the switch from a very old Lynksys router to the brand new NETGEAR (if that even makes a difference). I've tried several variations with the router settings (NAT strict, ports open), (NAT open, ports closed), (NAT and ports closed), (and the current NAT and ports open), but the issues still remain, anybody have any idea as to how I could fix this?

Oh and there's also this Error Status Report that I doubt actually means anything.

Could it be an issue at your friend's end? Have you tried connecting the old router and seeing if it works? Some solutions that may help support.xbox.com/.../performance

Hi,

Is it just one friend? (as below it could be their issue not yours) Do you have any issues playing Gears or Call of Duty etc with other people?

Also if you have UPnP enabled you don't need to use port forwarding as well, that can actually cause issues

Also who is your ISP (Internet service provider)

If your NAT type is open and your connection is good, then it is definitely at your friends end. Maybe their NAT type is closed/strict. Make sure you also consider the weather too, it may sound stupid but it does cause problems! This has happend to me on many occasions and honestly, it just seemed to fix its self. Give it time, if no fix then try ring xbox support to check how things are going on their end :)

Cheers, Tyler.

It isn't just one friend, it's all of them, though I'm not having issues with any games (Aside from Red Dead Redemption), my ISP is Windstream and it's been really clear out so I don't think the weather was causing issues.

Greetings, D4rfnader! As Shad0wmanUK's remarked if you have UPnP enabled you don't need to use port forwarding as enabling the two simultaneously can cause issues. Can you try disabling port forwarding and let us know if that makes a difference? Thanks!

I attempted to bridge my gigaset a while ago, I ended up resetting the modem on accident.

To resolve this you will certainly need to bridge it so follow the advice on that link carefully, if you are not sure contact your ISP as well, but you will need to do it as you are connecting a router to the Gigaset

So even if I'm not getting a NAT warning on the Xbox I could still be double NATing?
