Question regarding my account on a returned console

I got an XBO for Xmas and the next day it stopped working. I had already recovered my gamertag onto the console and whatnot before it stopped working. I went and returned the console and got a new one though.

My question is is my account in any danger? I never got to remove the account from the broken XBO and I dont know what the store (Target) will do. I'm a bit worried that the console will somehow magically work when they test it, they'll resell it and someone will have access to my account.

Try the steps at the link to remotely require a password on all consoles.  

support.xbox.com/.../password-protect-account

Make sure your console is off at the time.  When you turn it on after doing the steps to remotely require the password and you need to type your password in, then you know it worked.
