Question on slim fan and overheating

My slim overheats easily--even on a freestanding table with the games saved to the hard drive, after about 20 min I get sound and picture flutter that only goes away if a fan is pointed at the side of the slim. I've emptied the cache. The room temperature is in the low 70s. The fan puts out a gentle breeze. So I'm wondering a few things. Is the fan supposed to run fast enough to really blow air with some force? Could dust be a problem, and if so how do I remove it? Is this typical for a slim (my old white Xbox never overheated)? Or is this a parts problem?

Hello, if your XBOX 360 is actually turning off and beeping that means it's over heating if for some reason this is happening to you and you are already in a very ventilated area, I suggest you contact XBOX Support and get the console repaired or visit http://myservice.xbox.com.
