I just renewed my subscription for XBOX Live GOLD Membership. I did it through the XBOX.com website instead of the actual XBOX because I kept getting error messages. Everything seemed to work fine and I even got a conformation e-mail saying that the purchase was confirmed. But, for some reason I don't think I have GOLD. My account online says I have a GOLD membership and it even tells me the next billing date and everything, but when I try to play a game online or chat with somebody via headset, it won't let me do anything.
