Question about "Forum Leveling"

Hi, I have a question about the "levels" on the Forums. It seems like I have been a level 2 for soooo long, probably a few years. I am not really sure how it works. I don't post prodigiously but I do post quite often. Do you advance by the sheer number of post, or is there something else to it? Thanks in advance and everyone in support and really entire community are always doing a superior job!

I think it's mostly to do with the amount of posts.

I think it can take hundreds of posts to level up.

^^Much more than that, especially when you get into the higher levels. It is mostly post count, in the past Moderators could raise or lower it based on behavior, but I haven't seen this happening so not sure if they still have the capabilities to do that. You will rise over time just by being a helpful member and an active member of the community.
