Profile gone.

I was playing earlier today, turned off my xbox and turned it on again to play. When I turned it on again my profile was gone, and when I tried to download it, said downloading profiles is unavaible. Can anyone shed some light on the matter? Thanks.

Keep an eye on the service status page. When the Xbox Live Service is Up and Running, you'll be able to re-download your profile.

Is it still the "downloading profiles in unavailable" message or is there a status code? If you turn off your Xbox 360, reset your router and try again, do you still get the same message?

I went to my harddrive and saw that my profile was "corrupted", I deleted it and redownloaded it and it seems to work fine. Thanks for your help, is there any specific reason why it would be "corrupted?".

[/quote]Thought it may have been that, but the service alert at the time seemed more likely. A file is usually corrupted if something goes wrong when it's being saved. It's something that seems to happen to some people when the profile is being "saved" or updated to Xbox Live's servers when there's a service alert.
