Profile connecting to Xbox Live

Xbox live has been working fine for me recently until I just tried to sign in. it gives me the error message "Sorry, this profile can't connect to Xbox LIVE on this console. To fix it, download it again." If I try to download my profile, it gives me the message "Sorry, Xbox LIVE profiles cant be downloaded right now. Try Again later. 801540A9" I know the reasonable solution it to wait, but I dont understand why this is happening?

I'm also getting this error code 801540A9, with no available solutions on the XBOX site. The "threads" you put in your responses aren't valid, Ambassador. Thanks.

mine worked on another try.. this time I entered my Login (the associated email address) as I had originally entered it: caps on some of the letters - CAPITALIZATION matters. it's an authentication issue, user error, I think. Thanks.
