Problems with adding family members in Gold family accounts

My son's account has expired and he is now not able to join xbox live. He was part of my gold family account which is in date but his account has expired asking for payment details. I removed him from the family account and then added him to see if this resolved the issue but he is visible in the family page but cannot be added to the gold account at this time. Please help me understand why his account ended and why I cannot addd him? You pay good money for this service and cannot use it when there is a problem, help!

Hey mate, is there any more text from the error message that you can share with us? Also, have you tried adding him both via the console and Xbox.com?

It just says on xbox live that the account cannot be added right now. On the console it says that there is a problem with the account and it cannot be added now. Please try later.

Message from PC is:-

Chockkyy x cannot be assigned to a gold subscription at this time.

He is on the family account but cannot be addded for some reason.

Call into live support. They are fantastic at what they do!. There may be a billing issue on the account, or there may be a live issue. generally to add a member to the family pack, the gamer tag needs to be on the same console as the main account, then be added that way. but, usually the message you are getting indicates a possible past due balance or some other issue. Call in to xbox and see whats going on.
