just upgraded from windows platform xp to platform 8. prior pc with xp operating system streamed media seamlessly, via ethernet to router and then ethernet to xbox (#1), then wireless to 2nd xbox (#2) console with almost instant media list propagation. however streaming performance from windows platform 8 is.... slow. infact media list propagation is so slow, that selecting music media often results in a "timed out" action, saying there is no connection to a pc, even though the current connection is in perfect standing. movies and pics stream fine, however the amount of time needed for media list propagation takes considerably longer than prior OS, also the wireless xbox needs considerably more time to open media files and to skip scenes, also experiencing same delays in media list propagation.... there was hardly any delay with the previous pc as the media server to the wireless xbox console.... the windows support forum directed another customer with exactly the same issue to this forum. i hate buck passing, perhaps one of these two outfits will be able to offer resolution without too much.... trouble.
so just to recap, widows xp worked outstanding for streaming even to wireless xbox, switched to widows 8, now media list propagation is delayed, skip scene function delayed, opening files delays, music artists list propagation FAILS (resulting in error message). thanks for your prompt attention, included is the link to another customers original post..... the one that got "buck-passed" to this forum =(
