Problems adding Xbox to Google Home

I've been trying to add my Xbox to my Google Home but it isn't working.

Here is what is happening.

1. I open the Google Home app on my iPhone, go to Set up Device, and pick existing device.

2. I select Xbox from the list of services.

3. I see a message "Account linked successfully", and then nothing.

I never get a prompt to sign into my Xbox account and add my Xbox to a room. My Xbox is powered on and on the same wireless network as my phone. I've made sure the Digital assistants option is selected, restarted my Xbox a few times, uninstalled and re-installed the Google Home app on my phone, but still no luck.

Hi Cartman,

Thanks for  coming to the forums. We recommend to try and power off both devices for few seconds turn back on. It should be asking you to sign in with your account. Until it does that, it will not pair up. you can view the set  up page we have for google.

Thanks,

Brad

Stay safe have fun. GAME HARD just not too hard :) ಠ益ಠ

Ok, I turned off my phone and Xbox for a few minutes and turned them back on.

Here is a video of what is happening.

Any other ideas?

I finally got this to work by going to microsoft.com/consent, removing Google, and then trying again.

I am having the exact same issue, but removing google does not fix my issue. I am prompted to login but then I get the same “Account Successfully Linked” message and then nothing

Ive tried everything as well and it just will not work. Same exact issue. Its like there should be a pop up in the google home/assistant app that allows to to sign in but nothing appears. I get the same “successful” prompt at the bottom of the screen.

That's what was happening to me. My only suggestion would be to go to microsoft.com/consent for any Microsoft account that you have and remove Google Assistant and try again. Make sure that you're using the same account that you use to sign in to Xbox with.

Thanks but I did that.. a LOT of times and it always ends up the same way :(

And it's the same account to sign in to Xbox.

Yeah I tried that and both accounts are the same. I think it may have more to do with the google home app (which I tried reinstalling) than it does microsoft. I don’t know. At this point I gave up.
