Problem with my gold membership

I have gold membership and it should last till july. Everything works fine but when i try to connect other controller in my party and play with quest even in custom games in halo it says that "cant sign in to xbox live. please use a profile with a valid membership". I can play alone in matchmaking in halo 4 but not with quest. Also when i look at  my profile it says that my membership status is "free" when it should say "gold". I even but 14 days trial but it didnt work. Also i couldnt find a email address to xbox support. Is there any?

Try the following steps, and see if the same error appears afterwards:

 

Delete your gamer profile.

  1. Go to 'Settings', and then select 'System'.
  2. Select 'Storage'.
  3. Select 'All Devices'.
  4. Select 'Gamer Profiles'.
  5. Select the gamertag that you want to delete.
  6. Select 'Delete'.
  7. Select 'Delete Profile Only'. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements.

 


Clear your Xbox system cache. This will remove temporary files from the system cache.

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
  2. Select Storage or Memory.
  3. Highlight the storage device, and then press Y on your controller.
  4. Select Clear System Cache.


Download your gamer profile.

  1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).
  2. Select 'Download Profile'.
  3. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox LIVE Gamertag.
  4. Enter your Microsoft account password.

i got almost the same problem:

i can't play online multiplayer since 2 weeks now, but i've got 11 months left with gold, but it says i only got silver membership. when i cashed the gold code 1 month ago, it lagged about 5 minutes so i shut down my xbox and tried it again. then it functioned and i extended my gold membership for a year. until 2 weeks ago, i was able to play online and to do everything else that needs gold membership. but 2 weeks ago, from one day to another, it said i haven't got the permission to play the games online. what can i do? the same like above? and sorry for my bad english, i'm from germany ;)

I tryied to delete my profile but when i get to step 7, it says "cant perform action-there was a problem performing that action". Should i try to clear that cache thing (would you tell me what it is becouse i dont speak english so good and dont know what it is) or what should i do?

Yes, that is no problem. Here is the overview (basic description) of what the cache is and what happens when cleared. It is a common solution that helps resolve many issues.

 

Issues with your Xbox 360 console can often be resolved by removing temporary files and data from the system cache. The cache stores such items as game updates, system update installation packages, and gamer pictures of your friends.

Clearing the Xbox 360 cache does not remove:

  • Your gamertag
  • Content that you have downloaded
  • Game files
  • Console software updates

Clearing the cache temporarily removes:

  • Previously downloaded game updates. You will be prompted to download these updates again the next time you try to play the games.

I cleared the cache and then tryied to delete profile but it says still that -"cant perform action-there was a problem performing that action" so i cant delete profile. It also signs me out when i try it and i also have tryied to delete it without signing in.

I succesfully deleted my profile and downloaded it again but same thing i can connect to xbox live and play alone but when i try to play with a friend and connect second controller, xbox log me out and says that "cant sign in to xbox live. please use a profile with a valid membership". It also still says that my member status is free even when the free weekend has ended. I tryed everything, any idea whats a problem?

Hey guys, I'm seeing you both showing up as Free members here (you can check out the color of usernames on the Forums- gold means active Gold, silver means free) so it looks like both of you have had your LIVE expire.  We can figure out why that happened by logging in to commerce.live.com if you can't log in to that commerce website and get an error, then you will want to request a call from a billing agent at support.xbox.com/contact-us
