Problem transferring data from 20gHD to 250gHD

Hi. I just upgraded my 360 to the S model but I'm starting to regret it. I have an official transfer cable and the latest update for my new 360. But when I start the console there is not prompt to transfer the data and when I try to do it manually it recognises the old HD as a flash drive and asks to configure it..... which would delete everything on it. I've looked online and seen other people mention this problem, but have not found any solutions. Any advice would we much appreciated because I have a 14 no questions return policy that I just might use if there is no solution. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The official cable doesn't do that. Contact support, or exchange the cable at your retailer.

Where did you buy it?

It's pretty easy to obtain "official" stickers...

the problem is that the transfer cable is not working as it should, either it's defective, or it's not a proper Microsoft cable.

Return it.

I would say if it's an official xbox 360 cable it is faulty take it back to where you bought it and tell them it doesn't work and ask for a replacement. If they give you the run around you can tell them proper xbox cable work easy transfering data so unless they are selling dodgy items its faulty. I have a proper 1 and never have problem transferring data between my xbox's, and i have had friends buy cheap one's and they don't work well at all hope this helps you.
