Problem connecting to a friend

Helle there,

First of al thanks for clicking this thread ofcourse :) . I've been reading a lot in the forums but I didnt found some one who has the specific problem is I do .

So the problem is that me and my friend want to play together but we cant because it says lost connection to the host or what so ever ...

But the strange thing is we both have "Open" Nat type and a wired connection to the Xbox.

I am out of options here so i hope that some one rescues me out of this gnarly position.

( Btw Its about Gears of war 3) cant wait for judgement :)    ( Europe )

This is for two separate consoles? Sorry, but the way you've phrased your connection is slightly confusing.

This sounds like, if you are using two different consoles in two different locations, one of them may not be connected to the internet. I would check your connection status, confirm you are both on the internet, and then attempt to play together again.

Yes each of us has a Xbox console and both Nat Typs are open. If you need to know more dont hesitate to ask.

Hi

Can you post up which version of firmware  you are using on the Belkin?

I would remove those forwarded ports and enable UPnP under the Admin/utilities menu on the router and set your Xbox ip address to auto

Can you also tell us more about your friends setup? Make/model of modem and router and ISP and whether they are wired/wireless etc

Can you host/join others matches ok? Is it just this one friend?
