Power supply has red light

I turn on my xbox and I start to play a game, then all of  a sudden my xbox shuts down and i see that the power supply has a red light. I then unplug the power supply and gave my xbox 10 minutes so it could cool down . I came back plugged it back in, started to play a game and then it did it again. What is going on? and btw this a slim i bought late august this year.

I'm having the same problem as you. I thought it was an issue with the outlets in my old apartment but now that I'm in a different house I just had it happen to me again even though it was fine for about 2 months. I'm looking into finding out why this is happening, and if I find something I'll post it here. If anyone else has any suggestions they'd be very helpful too.

OP - I apologize that we missed your post. For both, where is the power supply located? Is it in an open area with plenty of space all around it for airflow?
