Possible Counterfeit controller?

When i first got this controller around 11/23/13 it was working fine, by 1/1/14 the LB and Left analog stick had broke and about 2 weeks ago, the controller refuses to charge the battery, and refuses to turn on when using non-rechargable

Where did you get the controller from?  Was it an official Xbox controller or a 3rd party controller (ie. Madcatz).  Can you post a pic of it?

Got it from a place in town called Console Doctor, the sticker where the battery "says" XBOX 360 Wireless controller Microsoft corp.

Hello,

If I was in your situation I would take it back to the place where you got it and inform them that It did not work. They probably wont take it back but they may replace it. If you need to get another one it is usually best to get a controller from GameStop, Walmart, Amazon, or sometimes even eBay. You can find them for pretty cheap on eBay used. (if you don't mind used controllers)

Checking out The Console Doctor suggests that it was either refurbished or modded in some way.  There is no way to get that repaired or replaced by MS if that is the case.  You will need to contact the place where you purchased it in order to see if anything can be done.
