Please enter a valid credit card number?

I tried setting up xbox live on my console and it said my information couldn't be verified, so I tried to do it on the website and it said 'please enter a valid credit card number'

 

This is the first time I've had this trouble, and I've used this credit card on many different accounts in the past, so what's the deal? I've quadruple checked all my information with caps, no caps,  everything. It is making me very angry.

Exact same problem here - Ive looked just about everywhere for the damn answer to this question.

Some banks put a block on credit/debit cards to be used for reocurring (sp) payments. There are a couple of other factors involved also like the c.v.m. code (3 digits on back) could be different to what the bank has on file. ring the bank and ask them is there a block on the card. If all is good give one of the lads at support a ring.

No block on the card since I use it daily w/ the same creds as are listed.

I gave support a call and Ill post what gets sorted out after all of this.

Known issue ~ Please use your console to process your purchase and you will be prompted to change payment option.  XBOX is aware of the issue however your console should work in the mean time.

I have the same exact issue. This is bull. I've waited three days now for this to clear up and no one has given me any real progress or info in my own posts here.

Ok, so I called tech support because I was having all sorts of problems:

  -  Couldnt redeem codes

  -  Couldnt buy games

  -  Couldnt add a CC

The only issue they helped me fix was the ability to redeem codes.  Tech support did tell me that they have seriously tightened up security due to all the PS3 stuff that has gone down lately and that my account had been suspended.  Thanks for the notice there.  Seems like a very typical heavy-handed response to the point where the system doesnt even work anymore.

Nonetheless, there is STILL no answer as to why CC's are not being input and this is getting a bit ridiculous.

Anything? Anyone?

Furthermore, is there any way to "un-suggest" the suggested answer because it flat out doesnt work.  Im getting a bit fed up w/ these vague, cookie-cutter, bs answers...

the only people who can help with billing issues with creditcards is billing support

 

if https://billing.microsoft.com is not accepting it all you can do is call support

 anyways i  went into my account here and added a brand new never used creditcard on live (used it at the store but not here) from this website

too see if i would have issues it added the creditcard with no issues

mind you i'm from canada (maybe its a regional thing)

can you try adding the card here?

sign in and manage payment option (retype your mailing/billing address) add card

i'm not saying it will work for sure but it couldn't hurt to try if it works
