Playing online

I updated my account to gold on xboxlive.com but it still won't let me play online. It says I'm still a silver member

Hello Diabetic Pride! Usually when this happens, either you can wait until the servers recognize your Gold status (which can take a few hours), or you can Test your Connection to Xbox LIVE. The latter will make sure your Gold status is synced immediately. :)
