Playing on PC monitor with external speakers

I want to be able to play Xbox 360 on my PC montior in HD and be able to get audio from my external speakers. I also want to be able to record gameplay with my HD PVR 2. If this is possible, could someone link me to the items I need to purchase?

To be able to play in HD on a computer monitor, you will need to be connecting over a HDMI or DVI connection, meaning your monitor must have one of those ports. The PVR (The GE version at least) only has HDMI so what you will need to do is connect the Console to the PVR, and the PVR to the monitor via HDMI. That would provide video support. As far as audio, Microsoft came out with a "HDMI Audio video dongle adapter" with the HDMI kits, it plugs into the AV port of your Xbox and has output options of RCA and Optical. So if your external spearkers are the 3.5mm jack, you will need a RCA to 3.5 adapter as well.

Hope this helps,
