Pause Xbox Live Subscription?

I want to trade my One X in for max credit but want to know if and how I can put my Xbox Live subscription on pause, then resume once I get the Series X.  Thanks for the info.

Hey there, unfortunately once its activated, it continues to run unless you outright cancel it, in which you lose renaining time.

Sorry, you cannot pause your xbox-live subscription. As your pre-paid duration is already paid for. Only option is to cancel your subscription, but you are welcomed to renew your subcription at any time you deem fit.

There is no way pause the time for xbl or game pass you already paid for. You could turn the auto renew for the subscriptions you have.

No. You cannot pause Xbox Live.

If you used a credit card to pay for your subscription, you can "cancel immediately" and you will get a refund for the remaining full months of your membership. So it's not really "pausing", but at least you'll get the monetary value of the remaining full months back (so for example, if you subscribed to a 12 month membership in January, and you cancel today in February, you will only get refunds for the months March to December).

However, if you used a prepaid code card to activate Xbox Live Gold, then there is no way to pause the membership. You could in theory cancel immediately as well, but you won't get a refund for the remaining months.

I'm very sorry to tell you but there isnt a way to do that. Once you start a membership term you can only cancel it. Would be great if you could for if say you go on holiday or your console is away for repair but right now it's not possible

honestly theres no way to pause a membership. id just use it up and wait to buy more untill the new console comes out if thats what your aiming for.

Hi,

You can't pause your subscriptions as people above already said but and this is a big but, you can get in touch with support and tell your issue and maybe get a partial refund or something? They are very kind with those issues.

Hi There,

In your case, I would trade in the One X for max credit and then pick up a cheap used Xbox One which you can use to play your games/game pass until you can get your Series X. That way at least you will have fun and get to use up your subscription.
