password does not save, kinect doesn't log me in.

I want to make my login process faster,  however, it appears neither of the two login processes work.

I have saved my password via settings --> sign in, security,  passkey.

I have have chosen the option to save my password at sign in. However, this never works for long. I set this then power down and startup my xbox and it works fine. After a multi hour game session I turn it off, go to bed, go to work, come home and log it and it again asks for my password. It does this all the time. I have rinsed and repeated the above.

So I tried the kinect sign in which responds the exact same way as above. I have removed my kinect sign in data, then pose in front of the kinect to re take my data. I instantly power off my xbox and boot it back up and it works. 24 hours go by and it stops working just like the saved password business.

So I manually enter my password everday.

Am I missing something so obvious or cannot the xbox store my data for long periods of time?

Any help/feedback is welcomed.

Hey ELITEtvGAMER

-

This sounds to me like an issue of trusted devices. Do you get prompted for your login credentials every day on other Microsoft services that you may be using - such as outlook.com or even an Xbox 360 or any other service?  When you power cycle your xbox one, are you doing the cold boot by holding finger on the power button for 8 seconds to power off cold then power on?

-

The Xbox One should be able to store your password and sign you automatically. The notes on verifying this are here:

support.xbox.com/.../troubleshoot-kinect-sign-in

-

This is probably the most important step of the note to try:

-

Kinect consistently doesn’t recognize you

1.Sign all other users out.

2.Press the Menu button on the controller, then select Settings. Or, say “Xbox go to Settings.”

3.Select Sign-in, Security & Passkey.

4.Under SIGN IN & SECURITY, select Reset my Kinect sign-in data.

5.Select Delete on the confirmation screen.

6.Select Kinect sign-in.

7.Make sure your name appears next to you on the screen, then select That’s Me.

I have never had an issue on my xbox 360. I saved my password once and till this day, I can log in without having to manually enter my password. Never has it prompted me for my password

I have also completed the steps provided for kinect login. I have removed and delete my old kinect sign in data and re did it, but no luck.

I have had the exact same issue since launch. I have had to input my password (with the setting as saved) each time I login and it tells me to "sign in with controller." If I am not connected to the internet it will sign me in correctly with kinect, but will say bye cheeseburger155 when I connect online and forces me to sign in with a password . It recognizes me since it says my username when it tells me to sign in with controller. If there is a solution to this please let me know. Thanks.

Same issue here. This is extremely annoying. All other family members are automatically signed in without problems, except me (primary account). It's not acceptable to have to sign in with password all the times, having everyone on the couch see my password when it's entered.

I'm surprised that only us few are having this issue. Either that or no one really uses the save password function.

Just wanted to let everyone know a solution that worked for me was deleting my gamertag from the console and then adding it once again.  I have not had the password problem since and doing so did not effect the games I had downloaded previously.

Just to get it out there, holding down the power button for 8 seconds is a "Soft reset"... a "hard reset" is performing a factory reset.
