Parental Account

Hi i have been down every avenue and microsoft are unwilling to provide my mum with the parental email password. If this is not my parent stated on the account i really dont know what to do.

I Have tried many escalations and yet Microsoft still cannot validate my mum as the account owner.

Can we not just remove the parental account that is tied with my gamertag as i am now 18 nearly 19?

You have been able to validate me as the child account holder but unable to validate my mum as the adult.

All i need to do is reset the password so i can accept the terms of use. I am completely willing to accept these but still require the parental accounts password.

I do not wish to make a new account as i have spent alot of my Time and Money into this account. It would be a complete shame if you could not do this for me.

Please can you either Promote the account to a parental account or provide my mum with the password so i can accept the terms of use and delete it from the account?

You have to figure out the parental issue first. That is a step that can't be bypassed. They wont remove it for you.

Once you get through that you can promote your account.

Have you tried taking the steps listed here? account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx

If not, try to use the Microsoft Account password-reset tool with the link provided to recover the parental email address credentials. If you can remember the security information originally provided by your mother when she created the account, you will be able to reset the password.

I Have tried every step but they cannot validate my mum. If it isnt my mum then i fear someone else has access to my information and also my mums information. All the details we give you are correct but none seem to work. We need to recover this parental account as i believe it is now being missused. Can you please help ?

Hey there Lewis! I'm sorry you've been going through all of this trouble just to retrieve your account, but I regret to inform you that if you cannot validate your mother's account, the e-mail, or password, there is no way to have access to it anymore. The only option left is to make a brand new account, and I know you've spent a lot of time and good money on it, and I sympathize with you on that, but unfortunately those are the rules!

But they can validate me? Isnt that enough to prove i am her son? Whoever has controll over the parental account has acces to our card details and personal information. Thats really quite poor if Microsoft cannot help me with this.

When you called support, did you try asking if you knew the credit card information if that would help get the account information back?
