Paid For Xbox Gold but Says I Have Silver. please Help!

Hey Microsoft, I just finished paying for a month of Xbox Live on my Xbox , via pay-pal. It says that I have a free silver account, therefor it is not letting me play online Black Ops 2. Please help me out as this is my first time paying for live! I already tried testing the connection! Thanks!

Give it some time. The transactions aren't always immediate.  You should be able to access gold features after payment is confirmed from both party.

It still shows your account is silver are you sure you were charged for it. And just in case try testing your connection it will usually fix this kind of issue. To test your connection go to your xbox dashboard. Go over to the settings tab and select system. From there go to Network settings. Then select the Network you are currently connected to. Select test connection to Xbox Live and let it do its thing. once it's done sign back into your account and see if you can play online. Please let me know whether or not this solves your issue.

Try deleting your profile then downloading it again from the dashboard.  If it is saying that you have a silver account when you look at your profile from the dashboard then that means for some reason your gold subscription hasn't been activated on your account, that would mean it is time to get on the phone with support (1-800-4MY-XBOX in the US) and find out why it wasn't activated.

Go on paypal.com and confirm that there was a transaction that went through.

Have you checked all the info, payment acct + other is current, at http://commerce.microsoft.com ?

Does xbox.com/accounts show you have Gold?
 
If so, suggest you contact a Billing Agent. You can choose Option 1 after finding your country's support line: See http://tinyurl.com/XBLnumbers ...
 
but a faster way to speak to a Billing Agent is to go to http://xbox.com - sign in there if you can - then go to http://support.xbox.com/contact-us?xr=footnav#0:2:5
 
Click on Request A Call and type in a few lines explaining your issue and you will get called back quicker than if you waited in queue on hold.
