Only my main xbox live account is unable to connect to xbox live.

Last night I booted up my 360 and saw that my main account(this one) failed to sign into xbox live. I ran a connection test which gave an all clear result. I tried signing in with another xbox live account and the online dash appeared and seemed to work normally. I tried my default profile again, same result said I could not connect to xbox live.

 

NOTE: I was a metro dash preview program member and had no trouble for the entirety of the preview of this dash. This error only coincides with the release of the new dash apps.

 

SO I started a support chat with a xbox live rep transcript follows:

Andrew: hello
Frances: Hello, thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Support. My name is Frances. Please give me a moment to review your question.
Frances: Hi Andrew, how are you today?
Andrew: ok, wanted to see if I could get this fixed before I go to bed
Frances: Okay, I'm sorry you are  having this issue. There are a few steps we can try to get this resolved.
Frances: Let's go to Settings> System> Storage> Gamer Profiles.  Please let me know if you see any corrupt information there please.
Andrew: there is no currupted information
Andrew: just my three gamer profiles
Frances: Okay, please select the gamertag that isn't able to connect, and delete profile ONLY. We can then clear the System Cache, and using your login information, we can recover the profile.
Andrew: ok I'm doing that now
Frances: Thanks Andrew!
Andrew: Error 80154087 "Sorry xbox live profiles cannot be downloaded right now.
Andrew: ...this could be really bad
Frances: One moment while I research that error code.  
Andrew: I was a beta tester for the new metro dash if that matters
Andrew: er well I was in the preview program
Frances: Thanks for that information.
Frances: Are you signed in with your account online at this time?
Andrew: no account is signed in right now
Andrew: My fiancee's silver account was signing in just fine
Frances: Okay, on Xbox.com, are you signed in with your information?
Andrew: yes
Frances: Andrew, let's restart the Xbox, and try to recover your profile please.
Andrew: attempting
Andrew: same error
Andrew: this issue is all over the official forums
Andrew: no real solution is available in any of teh forums
Frances: Let's try to delete and redownload the update.
Andrew: ok
Frances: If you go to Settings> System> Storage> when your hard drive is highlighted, let's push the following buttons:
Frances: Left Bumper> Right Bumper> X > Left Bumper> Right Bumper> X
Frances: Once this is successful the console should restart.
Andrew: restarting
Andrew: boooted at signin screen
Frances: Okay, is it asking you about Terms and Conditions?
Andrew: no
Andrew: if I try and sign in with my silver account it asks to download an update
Frances: Please select yes.
Andrew: downloading via crappy dsl
Frances: Okay, please let me know if you have any issues.
Frances: While that is downloading, are you able to sign in with one of your other gamertags online?
Andrew: on xbox.com you mean?
Frances: Yes sir.
Andrew: if I sign out do lose teh chat box with you?
Frances: No sir, I will provide you with a sign in link.
Frances: Please Sign In with your Windows Live ID that is associated with your gamertag, and then start your chat session again. To sign in, go here .
Andrew: O don't know my fiancees password.
Andrew: xbox rebooted after update going to attempt to download profile again
Frances: Okay, thanks Andrew.
Andrew: same error
Andrew: rage
Andrew: I need to sign off soon
Andrew: I have 9 copiers to get installed for my client in the morning
Frances: I understand, I am trying to verify some information about that error code.  
Frances: Andrew, I understand you have to go soon, what I am going to do is send this up to our Escalation Team.  They are going to further research this error code and why you are receiving it. Is that okay?
Andrew: yes please do, I was looking forward to using the new magic the gathering decks released tomorrow. I can't do that if my profile is inaccessible. Tell your upper minions that My MSPs would hate me for not spending them. But seriously I;ll be calling support again after work if there is no news.
Frances: May I have a valid email address for contact purposes please?
Andrew: ***************************

Andrew: same as my account
Frances: I understand your frustration Andrew, and I sincerely apologize.
Andrew: I accept that apology.
Frances: Thank you Andrew.  I am filling out the form now, and I will have a reference number for you.

As you can see my issue is unresolved.

Hey Logical, very sorry to hear about the ongoing profile issue here. I saw in the transcript that the agent was going to provide your information to a technician. Looking into your account, I can see that this action did transpire, and that your case is currently being looked into. At this point, I think it would be best to wait for word from an official technician. Can you please keep us posted on any contact you receive from the investigation team?

I researched a bit and heard that changing my live password could help. So I did, I'll try to download my profile again when I get home from work.

you may also need to contact wlid support for help in seeing if your wlid is corrupted. you can contact them at windowslivehelp.com. they will look at your wlid and hopefully get it changed so you can download your profile successfully.

xbox live support said just now that their profile servers have been having problems all day and that I should try again in a few hours.

Sorry if I am missing it, but have you restarted your router and modem as well as clearing your cache, and restoring your network to factory defaults, shutting the console down then back on and trying it?  Thanks!

tech didn't get back to me. code that pops up when I try and download my profile is consistently 801540B7

Going to contact support again and and have them start documenting how long I have been without access to my gold account.

Support told me to sit and spin while the upper levels techs get around to me. They said it will take a FEW DAYS! It's like I'm dealing with RIM.
