One month free gold

Just signed up for Xbox live with my profile.

During the process I was asked if I wish to have one month free gold membership which I accepted.

Then I got a screen message that there is issue with connecting to Xbox live and they left me with the Silver account.

I went to Xbox live again with my profile ( on the Xbox and on PC ) but can not see anywhere the option for one month free gold.

Needless to say, I did not use that one gold month free before and my household did not hit the limit of three.

How do I get that one month free of gold membership?

I did actually do that before posting this.

First I got in touch with a dude who had no clue what he was talking about, repeating things like a robot (reading from a script)  and wasted a half an hour of my life trying to convince me to by one year gold membership.

So I requested to speak to a supervisor who showed up some 10 min later and told me that the only way to do that is to create new account (new profile, new email etc...) - which I do not really want.

Must be a simpler way for doing that on my current account. It is clearly a *** up on their side.

The only thing I can suggest is to post in the Rewards forums and hopefully someone there will be able to help you out.
