Occasional freazing/white lines

i have a used system that freezes on most games, there have been a few that i can play with no problems. i also have vertical white line when i play dvds on my xbox.

i haven't had the red ring, and i was wondering if it is just the disk drive that is the problem. any advice is welcome.

I havent, but the warrenty stickers are gone. I don't know if it is moded or not. I found the drive type by comparing the disk tray, and the hole under the tray that shows a couple of yellow wires.

Ah, if the warranty stickers are gone, then unfortunately the unit would not be eligible for repair by Microsoft.
