Not able to connect to my network

I was playing CoD yesterday, and after a game had been played, my xbox completely disconnected from the internet, and stopped allowing me to connect to it again. I'm very confused as I checked and my internet is working completely fine, yet my xbox is unable to connect to it once again. I have reset my router, and factory reset the network settings on my xbox as suggested in the troubleshooting process. None of this has worked, so it would be great if someone could help me out!

It's a slim model, so it has wireless built into the xbox. I've tried using this option also, and the same message comes up, saying that it cannot find the IP address.

Oh okay, sorry! I have my computer which I'm using now connected to the same network, as well as my phone and another computer downstairs. All of which are working fine with the internet, and it's only my xbox which will not connect. Is that what you mean? Sorry if not

That's ok! Did you try turning UpnP on, on the modem, and did you try adding the xbox to the modems ,DMZ ( which will by pass any firewalls that my be blocking it). You can also try doing a firmware update on the modem

I haven't yet, no. Does this have anything to do with my router? Just found out it's a Netgear DG834 Router if that helps. I'll go see if I can find my modem

Hi,

Doesn't sound good  :(

So you've reset to factory defaults on the Xbox

I would also try:-

A different Ethernet cable

A different Ethernet port on your router

If that does not resolve the issue then to me it does sound like your Xbox has developed a fault

I've logged into my router on the internet, and it's unable to find my Xbox on the "Attatched Devices" section, suggesting that the Xbox is unable to connect to my router, rather than it being a problem with my router I think. I'm not sure if you can shed any more light on that, as I'm only guessing. At the moment I'm using a mains adaptor to let my ethernet connection run through the mains (a little like this: [View:http://images2.playserver1.com/ProductImages/6/5/2/7/7/3/0/2/20377256_300x300_1.jpg] ), so either this has broken, which I think is unlikely, or perhaps one of the cables has broken.

Can you try connecting direct to the router (as a test) and bypass the TPLink homeplugs
