No matter what I do with my router I still get moderate nat setting message.

This is driving me crazy. Ive googled this and thought I had done everything possible. Still getting moderate nat settings, am I missing something? My xbox is hardwired to my router.

  1. I have a WRT54GS linksys router with the latest firmware version.
  2. I have designated my xbox ip out of the DHCP range. (192.168.1.200)
  3. Enabled DMZ host ip of the same ip above.
  4. Unchecked both filter nat redirection and block anonymous internet requests
  5. opened ports 80-88 (both), 3074 (both), 53 (both) and 1863 (both)
  6. Set mtu at 1365
  7. tried upnp on and off

Do any of you know what im missing?  Also my modem does not have any type of nat settings in it. Thank you in advance.......

Unfortunately if you've done all of the above it sounds like it's possible that your ISP may be the cause for your moderate NAT setting. Have you tried giving them a call and seeing if they can help?

Ive called them (charter) in the past and they claim that my nat is open on their end. I ordered a new d-link router, after more googleing I found alot of people with the linksys are having the same problem. Maybe it will fix my set up.

A silly question but have you tried putting the cable into another Ethernet port? I find that one Ethernet port of my router will give me a moderate NAT no matter what, yet the others allow open. A very odd thing to be honest.

That's certainly odd voteDC, though weirder things have happened in the magical realm of networking! :P OP, please try this also - it's worth a shot, and best of all, it's free :)
