No beep when touching power- or eject-button

Hey there!

I recognized that my xbox doesn't beep anymore when I touch the power- or the eject-button. But everything still works, I'm just wondering why there's no sound anymore.

Is it just a changed configuration or what's the solution?

If everything else is functioning normally on your console besides the chime, then it's possible the internal component is having an issue, in which case you'd want to set up a repair. You can do so here, as well as check your warranty status.

actually just unplug it from the wall for a few minutes and plug it back in and turn it on, 9 times out of 10 that fixes the issue, good luck !

I read somewhere to disconnect all the cable and replug them back differently should solve the problem. I am facing teh same issue also but didn't try it yet as it involves taking the console out from teh closet it is placed it and get access to all those cable behind...Didn't have time to do that honestly yet :) Will post an update once i tried it :)

FYI you do not need to unplug it from the wall, just remove the power cord from the back of the console it does the same as if you unplugged it from the wall behind your TV.  I had the sound missing thing and simply unplugged the cord from the back of the console and plugged it back in, sounds came back, good luck!

Hi i had the same problem after searching the internet in a mad rush i found a awsner that seemed to make sence and work for me so here is what i did ... apprently its because the internal CPU chip is hot which stops the bleep noise your used to hearing so for half an hour unplug the power cable from the bag of your xbox and leave it out untill your ready to use again and i followed these steps which it (touch wood) has not stopped bleeping since i hope this helps :)
