New Xbox One HD space

I just recently purchased an xbox one, the MCC version, and the HD space seems really low for a brand new system. It's showing 353gb of space on the 500gb drive. I know some space will be taken for the OS, but that seems like a huge chunk for a brand new system. This is without installing MCC or any other game.

Is that the normal amount? If it is, is there things I can delete off of it?

Thanks.

Yes that's normal Digital Viking.

This is because your Xbox One's 500 GB hard drive can only technically store only 352GB of content.

This is because the Xbox One reserves the remaining space for its OS and other functions.

External HD's are quite cheap now though should you fill it quickly.

One important thing to remember about external HD's is that they must be USB 3.0 and have a minimum of 256GB capacity to be formated for installing games on it..
