XBOX 360 considers 1GB to be 1,073,741,824 bytes.

The drive manufacturers consider 1GB to be 1,000,000,000 bytes.

The 360 reserves about 5,000,000,000 bytes for system usage.

Between the reserved space and the unit discrepancy, you end up with a drive that has "only" 229GB free on it for user usage.

Mineplayer, it's best to create your own thread if you have an issue instead of bumping a 2 year old thread. If you still need more storage space you can use a flash drive or you may want to invest in a hard drive.

Any time you purchase a hard drive (not just xbox hard drives) they actually have slightly less than what's labelled. It has to do with how they calculate the space and it's usually rounded up when they label them.

The xbox hard drives also come with system files needed ont ehm that take up a big of space, but you can't see them.
