New TV with Stereo Speakers for Audio/HDMI Question

I own an Xbox 360 Slim, and in about a week I'm going to purchase a new HDTV with HDMI ports. My current setup is your standard A/V cables with the yellow jack in the TV, and the two audio jacks in my stereo. I want to be able to use the stereo as my audio for the new tv as well, is it possible to do with an HDMI connection? If so, what equipment do I need?

I found this for you. Hope it helps.

You have 2 or 3 options depending on what kind of Stereo set up you have.

1) You can just use an adapter like one of these, allow you to use HDMI and RCA Stereo cables at once.

2)You can use a Toslink Digital Audio cable, if your stereo has an input for it.

3) Or if you can, you can run your HDMI through your reliever/stereo first, then to your TV, this will only work if your receiver has an HDMI input with audio processing, not just "pass-through". Which means the Audio will just go right through to the HDTV not through external systems.
