New to xbox live 0___o

I've tried the set an alternate mac adress for modem only and use a manual IP adress then it said cannot find xbox server or setup DHCP manually.... didnt think this would be so complicated 0_o

You don't want to set a manual ip address for a direct modem connection.

Your best bet of getting it to work (although I have personally had difficulty getting this specific modem to work with the xbox):

Go to configure network -> additional settings -> restore to factory defaults, confirm yes.

Turn the xbox off.

Unplug the modem (and the coax cable going into it) for ~4-5 minutes.  Plug the modem and coax back in and let it completely boot up before turning the xbox back on.  If you still don't get an ip address automatically assigned, there may be an issue with the ethernet port on the xbox, or it's possible you may just need a router because this modem is picky.
