N.A.T settings

Hi,

I have gone onto my xbox to find out that my NAT is strict. I have a BT homehub 2. I have made a custom ports list; tcp 53, tcp 80, tcp 1863, tcp 3074, udp 53, udp 88, udp 1863, udp 3074. I have called this xbox-360 online. I definitely know what device my xbox is. I have selected my port list and the xbox and pressed ok. It loaded for a second and then disappeared. The xbox and the port list did not show up on the port forwarding list. Can someone please tell me why my homehub cannot confirm and how I can make it work.

Thanks.

Hey there Peach!
Have you tried set up Port Forward as follow: Port Forwarding Xbox LIVE on the BT Homehub 2 Note Make sure to disable UPnP and DMZ when you set up Port Forwarding.

For more useful tips about BT Homehub Strict NAT: Visit Shad0wmanUK's: "The unofficial guide to LIVE"

Post back and let us know how it goes.

Well my xbox says open but it cant be as I accidently deleted it from port forwarding. I just want to know why my port list will not confirm. I press add, it loads for a few seconds but does not appear in the port forwarding list. I tried to add it on my PS3 and that did not load either.

Anyone know how to get this custom port list on my xbox?

Hi,

You don't need to port forward with the hub, check out taidara's second link if you set it up like that you are good to go

If I have this custom ports list linked to my xbox won't this make my connection faster. I just want my hub to accept this custom list.

Nope it won't make it faster, NAT or port forwarding has nothing to do with speed

Greetings, JellyBean! Sorry to hear you're dealing with a strict NAT issue. Luckily there are steps to take to resolve this issue.

To add on to taidara's post on port forwarding, I would recommend taking a look at this guide: support.xbox.com/.../nat-type-strict. It provides helpful steps for resolving strict NAT issues. Please make sure when running through the steps that you either use Port Forwarding or UPnP but not both. Using both simultaneously may cause problems.

Give it a shot and keep us posted! :)
