I'm running into the same problem. Feels like it's a Microsoft issue. Most routers these days automatically open ports as needed.

After doing multiplayer connection test if you hold down both triggers and bumpers nat should change to open.

Yeah man. I live in Canada. I had awesome speeds and always had Open Nat on my Xbox 360 Slim... And it's still open and perfect but on the Xbox One my Nat type keeps switching from Open, Strict, and Moderate... But mostly it's Open.. I just turned off Enable IPv6 Ingress Filtering (Simple) on my D-Link Router.... I hope that stops and it's Open now... I am not running any DMZ or Port Forward. I am simply running UPNP. It sounds like an weird Bug on Xbox One. I hope they fix it ASAP!

I'm having the same issue. It'll say NAT Type Open one minute and Moderate the next. I've done the hold all triggers at the end of the multiplayer network test and it'll change, but I'm having issues connecting to party chat and joining games with my friends.

Did a couple searches on that message and found something suggesting that port forwarding port 16000 would solve the issue.  Did that and now I'm showing my NAT as Open...

Same issue here. I am running the XBO in a DMZ because of this issue. It didn't fix it at all. Only way to get it back to open is to either do what BRAVOS25 suggested or to turn the console off and  unplug it. With the console always falling to strict mode I keep getting the notorious can't connect to party issue. Took me forever to figure out that that was the reason. Has to be the console.

I have a Technicolor 8305C.

XBOX 360 Connected via ethernet.

XBOX One Connected via Ethernet.

I placed the Xbox One as my DMZ, and it worked.
