If you are using ICS to connect your console to your computer then to your network you will NOT get an OPEN NAT no matter what you do.

i cant find a way to open my nat either. idk if it is because i am getting connection through my computer (my computer is connected to a wireless network and my xbox is plugged into my computer) or if i am doing something wrong. all the trouble shooting pages that i have looked at assume that i have a normal connection and they cant help me :(

When I have trouble with my NAT, usually unplugging my Router for 30 seconds fixes it. I had a problem at one point where my NAT was stuck on Strict, I had to call out Comcast to replace my Router, and they found out my Router and Modem were outdated.

That may be your issue, if not, maybe calling your Provider wouldn't be a bad thing to do anyways.
