name change

I have been forwarded to this page by your help team.

I took this account from my younger brother, and really struggle to cope with the cringe rating of the name.

I currently have no card, and asking the mother isn't even an option, therefore I was wondering if Microsoft had it in there heart to look after a dedicated customer, I would appreciate it.. a lot.

Would a free name change really affect a business as big as Microsoft?

Thanks for your time

Hi there,

-

Unfortunately I'm not sure what "team" sent you to the forums, but the only way to get a name change for your XBOX Live gamertag is to pay for it. You could always choose to create a new gamertag and pick your own name though.

How is it you think YOU are a dedicated customer after doing this? If you want a new name then you will have to do what the rest of us have to do, pay for it. As it does not violate the MS Terms of Service/Code of Conduct.

enough of the caps, makes me feel intimidated like I've done something wrong.

I was instructed here by a member of staff on the Live Chat who said the name change was a possibility.

Never was never will be free just like in real life

if you dont want a name you shouldve created your own account

It is against the rules of xbox live to transfer ownership of an account

no other console lets you change a name

you should feel fortunate to even have that option

You did do something wrong. You took your brothers account, which is against the ToS, and now are expecting special treatment based on HIS years of service on XBL. There is no preferential treatment here, the rules apply to everyone equally. If you want a name change you pay for it like the rest of us since it doesn't violate the rules.

Hi badmanBLACK0,

The only way to get a Free Name Change is if your name violates the Code of Conduct and is issued a name change by our enforcement team. This is not something that we can do or that you can request to have done.

As has been stated, I'm sorry to say but you will need to purchase a name change if you would like a different GT on your account.

Read the post above you from a Support Agent. That will give you the answer here. It's the same as was given to the first poster, back when this thread was new.

Support doesn't handle forced name changes. That is up to the enforcement team. They are the ones who determine whether or not a name violates the code of conduct. So even though a member of support may have said it was appropriate to her, that doesn't mean it doesn't violate the code and you can't be given another forced change. Microsoft will not give you a refund. You violated the code of conduct that you agreed to when you created the account.

Also, multiple forced name changes can result in your account being banned.
