My Xbox Keeps Updating Everytime I Play A Different Game on Xbox live . Is my Xbox 360 broke?

I was on Xbox live. I played Mortal Kombat and there's no updates. Then I play GTA IV there's an update. Then I played Mortal Kombat again, now there's and update. Finally, I played GTA again, AND THERE'S AN UPDATE. Why is Xbox keep updating the same games??!!!

You might have some corrupt files on your harddrive.  You should examine your harddrive and find any files marked "corrupt" and delete them.   Then run the cache clearing routine.    

After doing that you may get prompted to download the updates one more time. Then it should stop.

Clearing the Xbox 360 Hard Drive cache.

With the Xbox 360 Hard Drive attached to the console, follow these steps:

a.  Locate the System section of the Xbox 360 Dashboard.  

b.  Select Memory, select Hard Drive, and then press Y to view the device options screen.

c. Select the Clear Cache option

I have experienced a number of people with this same problem in the past week and found clearing the cache to normally solve this problem.

The problem also occurs when you switch from a game downloaded from the Marketplace to a game you bought from a retailer.
